5 EASY Ways To Integrate Sustainability Into Daily Life

2 min read

First of all - we want to say, it’s ok to not know how to get started in transitioning to a more sustainable lifestyle - and it’s also ok to take small steps to get there versus making one huge change. The earth needs a lot of love right now and we’re all learning along the way (including us!). We’re here to do it with you and offer little tidbits that we’ve found helpful in our own journeys!

Here are a couple of ways to be conscious in your day-to-day life that are easy to integrate and can help make impact over time:

1. Cut back on plastic.

We know, you’ve heard it before, but you wouldn’t believe how much plastic ends up in landfills each year (27 million tons in 2018 alone).
A few ways you can get started:
*Get yourself a fun eco-friendly water bottle that you can refill
*Use a canvas tote or reusable bag when you go grocery shopping
*Utilize glass containers (hellooooo, mason jars)
*Say goodbye to disposable razors

2. Donate your old clothes.

About 84% of clothing ends up in landfills. When you’re going through your closet, donate your items, sell them, or check out local ‘swap/gift’ groups on social media.

3. Check if your fave brands are carbon netural.

There’s a lot of energy and emissions that go into most kinds of businesses. Being carbon neutral basically means that the business is making sure that their carbon dioxide output has a net neutral impact on the environment. Paragon is proud to be carbon neutral and certified by Pachama.

4. Meatless Monday (or really, any day).

One meatless day can actually help reduce emissions - if the entire country didn’t eat meat for just one day a week, it would be the equivalent of taking 7.6 MILLION cars off the road.

5. Are you an avid online shopper? Make sure that packaging is recycled!

All of that plastic coming to your door adds up. Check to see if your order will arrive in a recycled or biodegradable bag.
Our team was jumping for joy when we found a solution to ship in recycled mailers AND use biodegradable packing bags!
